Abstract:This paper introduces briefly the latest advances of the study on the origin and early evolution of bony fishes. The new findings of early bony fishes exemplified by Psarolepis help to resolve the pattern of the origin of bony fishes and their divergence into actinopterygians and sarcopterygians.
