Abstract:Hexi region is the most important grain-productive place of Gansu province, where there are the best agricultural conditions, the highest agricultural level and the greatest agricultural contributions in Gansu province. The status in quo, contributions and issues of the agricultural development in Hexi region has been analyzed in the paper. The paper has pointed out that the further development of the agriculture in Hexi region needs to reconstruct the development strategy,that is, converting from the construction of the "goods grain base" to the construction of the "sunshine, green and high water-efficient agriculture base". Sunshine, green and high water-efficient agriculture is sustainable agriculture, and is a systematic engineering of agricultural techniques. The strengths of the construction of Hexi sunshine, green and high water-efficient agriculture base has been outlined, and some recommendations has been put forwarded in the present paper.
