Abstract:Lake environment problem is one of the important environment issues in China nowadays, which could be as a barrier to limit the regional economy development in the catchment. Based on a large number of investigation data, the author reveals a series of environmental problems in lakes, such as the eutrophication, algae bloom, water pollution, claiming land from lakes, lake dried up and so on, and points out that unreasonable human activities could be as a main reason, especially in recent decades and the climate changes as another cause. For the harmony between the human beings and the nature, some suggestions to strengthen the innovative development of lake science in China are provided according to the developing trends of the international scientific research on lake science.
