Abstract:Non-ferrous metals are the basic materials in the development of national economy and the "food" and "blood" of modern industry. Although China has rich non-ferrous metal resources, the sustainable development of the industry of non-ferrous metals is faced with challenges for the poor reserves of pillar-type mineral, low share of mineral resources per capita and high growth rate of resources consumption, showing the crucial situation of shortage of raw material of non-ferrous metals. The comprehensive utilization of non-ferrous metals is an important way to realize the strategy of sustainable development since it’s helpful to solve resources-shortage, control pollution and improve environment. With the analysis on problems in comprehesive utilization of non-ferrous metals, this paper reveals essential reasons from three administrative levels, policy, technology and enterprise management, separately. Finally, suggestions for countermeasures are proposed in a targeted manner.
