Abstract:We are now in a new era of electronic society. Computers are expected to have the abilities to influence or be influenced by human emotions and to interact with people more naturally and kindly. Affective computing aims at computing which endows a computing system with the abilities to recognize, understand, express, and respond to human emotion in a collaborative spirit to improve human affective experience with technology as well as to have computers with self-contained and self-sufficient intelligence. Affective computing research is of great benefit to both a harmonious electronic society and the development of psychological science.
