Abstract:In the middle term of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, China will go to a historic turning point in urbanization, and more than half of Chinese will live in the regions of cities and towns. Starting from the course of urban development and urbanizationin in China, this paper reviews urban-rural construction reform process, discusses urban development policy and roadmap, analyzes urban issues that are closely related with people’s living and work and looks forward to urban development strategy in the coming future. The creation of the livable cities and beautiful human settlement is taken as a long-term urban development strategic target in China.
