Abstract:China's chemistry is now at the transformative stage of development, i.e. from a manufacture power house of research articles publication, paten application and chemical production, to a leading innovation country. In this paper, the challenges and opportunities of chemical science in China were described. The strategic development of China's chemical sciences was also proposed.
