Abstract:There has been an increasing use of sophisticated statistics in psychological research in recent years. We reviewed the trends in the statistics used in the last several decades and explained the popular use of structural equation modeling. Despite the potential confusion on researchers, the new complicated statistics provides chances for changes and theoretical im-provement. We also briefly explained the statistics to be used in adopting tests from other countries. Looking into the future, we have to prepare ourselves for the development of new statistical methods and should be ready to change our attitudes towards different statistics approaches. To promote statistical education, we have to coordinate workshops and courseware development, in particularly to fully utilize the internet platform.
