Abstract:The health effects of air pollution have been intensely studied in recent years. In this review, we discuss the progress of the evidence for adverse effects on health of air pollutants. These effects have been found in epidemiological studies which relate time-series studies and long-term particle exposure studies. Mechanisms of response observed in laboratory exposure research studies are also described. Finally, a prospect for the activities on health effects research of air pollution in China is given.
