Abstract:This paper describes the rising space activity and the great achievement in space science briefly. The strategic importance of space science in forefront fundamental research has been expounded. Also the challenges and opportunities to promote space science in China have been analyzed. It is emphasized that we should pay more attention to space science and take it as a breakthrough opportunity in cutting-edge research in China. A series of recommendations have been proposed to promote space science in China.
