         赤潮;有害藻华

        赤潮 (有害藻华 )这种海洋灾害已引起了世界各国政府和科学家的重视。近年来我国赤潮的发生频率、规模和面积不断增大 ,对我国沿海养殖业、渔业资源、渔产品质量、生态环境以及人类健康构成了重大的危害和威胁 ,严重影响了沿海经济。因此 ,加强与赤潮相关的生态学与海洋学研究 ,才能认识赤潮的发生机制 ,并结合建立的监测网络 ,进行赤潮灾害预报预警 ,对减少赤潮的危害 ,保障我国沿海经济的持续发展 ,具有十分重要意义。

        In recent years annual outbreak of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in China has been rising sharply. The size of the affected area during large-scale HAB events has also increased every year, covering thousands of square kilometers at each outbreak. HABs have resulted in heavy economic losses and have endangered the health of the people. Past achivement of the HAB research in China is reviewed and its future direction is suggested in light of the global trends in HAB research.
