        Health promotion is the ultimate goal of psychological research and practice.In this paper,we summarized the histories and progresses of physiological psychology,personality psychology,and medical psychology in health-related studies.Specifically,we described the contribution of Chinese scientists in these fields.We also discussed possible future directions in these branches of psychology in China.We propose that psychology may make a great contribution to the public health affair of China in the coming century.
